Document — Terms

Terms of Service.

EffectiveMay 3, 2026 Last updatedMay 3, 2026 Contactadmin@bereel.app

These are the rules of using BeReel. Read them. They are the agreement between you and us.

01 — Agreement

Using BeReel means agreeing to these terms.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and BeReel ("we", "us", "our"). They cover your use of the BeReel app and bereel.app.

By creating an account, joining the waitlist, or otherwise using BeReel, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, do not use BeReel.

02 — Eligibility

BeReel is for users 16 and over.

  • You must be at least 16 years old to use BeReel.
  • You must have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement in your country.
  • If you have previously been suspended or terminated by BeReel, you may not create a new account without our written permission.
03 — Your account

One person. One account. Real you.

  • You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
  • Use accurate information when you sign up. Do not impersonate anyone.
  • Keep your password and access secure. If you think your account has been compromised, write to admin@bereel.app immediately.
  • Do not share, sell, or transfer your account.
04 — The non-negotiables

Two rules. Non-negotiable.

(a) Live capture only

Every video on BeReel is recorded live in the BeReel app. There is no upload button. There is no path that lets you bring in a video that was not captured by BeReel itself. Trying to bypass this — by tampering with the app, replaying recordings into the camera, or any other workaround — is a serious violation and grounds for permanent termination.

(b) No AI-generated or synthetic content

BeReel is for video of real moments by real people. You may not post, by any means, content that is generated by AI, materially manipulated by AI, or designed to deceive about who or what is on screen. This includes AI-generated video, AI voice clones, deepfakes, and synthetic faces or scenes presented as real.

If we determine that content on BeReel was generated by AI or substantially manipulated by AI, we will remove it. Repeated or deliberate violations result in permanent termination.

These two rules are the architecture of BeReel. Everything else is built on top of them.

05 — Your content

You own your content. We need a license to display it.

You keep your rights

You retain all rights you have in the videos, captions, comments, and other content you create on BeReel. We do not claim ownership of your content.

The license you give us

By posting content on BeReel, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, perform, transmit, and distribute that content within BeReel and its normal functioning. This license exists so that we can actually run the app — for example, so that your video can be shown to other users on the feed and on your profile.

This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies that may persist briefly in routine backups before they are overwritten, and except as required by law.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for what you post. By posting, you confirm that:

  • You have the right to record and share what is on screen, including the rights of any people who are visible or audible.
  • Your content does not infringe anyone else's rights.
  • Your content does not violate any law.
  • Your content was captured live in the BeReel app, and was not generated or substantially manipulated by AI.
06 — Acceptable use

What you may not do on BeReel.

You agree not to use BeReel to:

  • Break any law or facilitate illegal activity.
  • Harass, threaten, stalk, or harm others.
  • Post hate speech or content that targets people based on protected characteristics.
  • Post sexual content involving minors. This is zero-tolerance.
  • Post content that promotes self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, or dangerous behavior.
  • Post graphic violence or content that promotes violence.
  • Impersonate other people, brands, or BeReel itself.
  • Infringe anyone's intellectual property.
  • Bypass the live-capture rule or the no-AI rule, or help anyone else do so.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, probe, or attack the BeReel service or its infrastructure.
  • Use bots or automation to interact with BeReel without our permission.
  • Sell, rent, or transfer your account; or pretend to operate official BeReel accounts.
  • Use BeReel in any way that interferes with other users' enjoyment of it.

For more specific guidance on what's expected from everyone on BeReel, read our Community Guidelines.

07 — Reports & moderation

The community helps us keep this real.

Anyone on BeReel can report content they believe violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines. We review reports and take action on content that breaks the rules. Action ranges from removing the content to suspending or terminating the account that posted it.

The report system is designed to surface real violations. It is not a tool for harassment or for silencing disagreement. Repeatedly submitting reports that turn out to be invalid may limit your ability to use the report function and may affect your account.

BeReel is built and operated by a small team. We review reports as quickly as we can, but we cannot guarantee specific response times. Our moderation tools, ranking, and safety systems are under continuous development and will keep improving as the platform grows.

08 — Removal & suspension

What we may do, and when.

We may, at our discretion:

  • Remove content that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines.
  • Suspend or terminate an account for violations.
  • Refuse service to anyone for any lawful reason.

Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you what was removed and why. For serious violations — including illegal content, threats, or attempts to bypass the live-capture rule — we may act first and notify you afterward.

If you believe we made a mistake, you can write to admin@bereel.app and ask us to review. We will look at it.

09 — Copyright

Notice and takedown.

If you are the copyright owner (or authorized to act for one) and you believe that content on BeReel infringes your copyright, send a notice to admin@bereel.app with the following:

  • Your name and contact information.
  • A description of the work you believe is infringed.
  • A link or other identifier showing where the allegedly infringing content is on BeReel.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act on the copyright owner's behalf.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

We will review valid notices and act on them, which may include removing the content and notifying the user who posted it. If you believe content of yours was wrongly removed, you may submit a counter-notice to the same address with equivalent information.

BeReel terminates the accounts of repeat infringers.

10 — Disclaimers

BeReel is provided "as is".

We work hard to make BeReel reliable, accurate, and safe — but we do not promise it will always be available, error-free, or uninterrupted, and we do not promise that the content posted by other users will be free of anything you find objectionable.

BeReel hosts content created by its users. We do not pre-screen videos before they appear on the feed. Our moderation, ranking, and safety systems are operated by a small team and are under continuous development. We do everything reasonably possible to surface real content and to remove content that breaks our Terms or Community Guidelines, but we cannot guarantee that every violation will be caught immediately. BeReel is not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or safety of content posted by other users. If you encounter content that breaks the rules, the report function is the fastest way to bring it to us.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BeReel is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

11 — Liability

The limits of what we are responsible for.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BeReel will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of BeReel.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to BeReel is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) one hundred United States dollars (USD 100). BeReel is currently free to use, so this amount is typically (a) zero.

12 — Indemnification

You stand behind your content.

You agree to indemnify and hold BeReel harmless from any claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of BeReel, or your violation of these Terms.

13 — Termination

How this ends.

  • You can leave at any time. Stop using the app, or delete your account from Settings → Delete Account in the BeReel app. If you can't access the app, write to admin@bereel.app.
  • We can end your access. We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or applicable law.
  • What survives. Sections of these Terms that should reasonably survive termination — including your content license for content you have already posted, your indemnification obligations, the disclaimers, and the limits on liability — survive.
14 — Disputes

Try to talk to us first.

If you have a dispute with BeReel, write to admin@bereel.app first and give us a reasonable chance to resolve it. Most things can be sorted out without lawyers.

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where BeReel operates, except where local law requires otherwise. Where there are mandatory consumer protections in your country that apply to you, those protections continue to apply.

15 — Changes

These Terms can change.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and notify you in the app, by email, or both. Your continued use of BeReel after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

16 — Contact

One inbox.

For any question, dispute, or formal notice related to these Terms, write to admin@bereel.app.
