Two rules. Everything else follows.
Live capture only.
Every video is recorded in the BeReel app. No upload button. No workarounds. If the camera didn't see it, it doesn't belong here.
Human content only.
No AI-generated video. No cloned voices. No synthetic faces. No deepfakes. Only what the camera saw.
These are the architecture of BeReel. Everything in the rest of these guidelines exists because we want this to be a place real people actually want to be.
The bar is low. Clear it.
- No harassment, threats, or intimidation.
- No hate speech and no content that targets people based on race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
- No content that incites violence against any group or individual.
- No coordinated pile-ons. If a piece of content is wrong, report it. Don't organize a mob.
Disagreement is part of being on a public platform. Cruelty is not.
Safety is a feature.
- No content that promotes or glorifies self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders.
- No dangerous "challenges" that risk serious injury.
- No graphic violence or gore. No content that promotes violence against people or animals.
- No content that depicts or facilitates abuse.
- No content that promotes the use of dangerous substances or activities to people who are likely to be harmed by it.
If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out to a local crisis service. Posting is not the same as getting help.
Zero tolerance.
BeReel is for users 16 and older. Sexual content involving anyone under 18 is never allowed under any circumstance — recorded, implied, suggested, or otherwise.
Content that grooms, sexualizes, or otherwise endangers minors is removed immediately and the account is permanently terminated. Where the law requires, we report to authorities.
If you encounter this kind of content on BeReel, use the report button. We treat these reports as the highest priority.
No costumes pretending to be someone else.
- Don't impersonate other people, brands, or BeReel itself.
- Don't pretend to operate official accounts.
- Don't catfish. Don't manufacture identities to mislead other users.
- Parody and satire are fine — label them clearly so other people aren't fooled.
Common sense, formalized.
- No content that promotes illegal activity — drug sales, weapons trafficking, fraud, scams, human exploitation, or otherwise.
- No content that violates laws where you live or where the content was made.
- No content used to organize criminal acts.
Other people's work is theirs.
- Don't post content that includes copyrighted music, footage, or designs you don't have rights to.
- Don't claim other people's work as your own.
- If you film other people, especially in private settings, get their consent.
If you believe content on BeReel infringes your copyright, see the copyright section in our Terms of Service.
Use it. Don't abuse it.
The report button is how the BeReel community tells us what's wrong. We take it seriously, and so should you.
- Report content you genuinely believe breaks these guidelines.
- Don't report content because you disagree with it, dislike the person, or want to silence them.
- Don't coordinate mass reports against creators.
Repeatedly submitting reports that turn out to be invalid will limit your ability to use the report function and may affect your account.
How we respond when guidelines are broken.
BeReel is run by a small team. We respond to reports as fast as we can, and our moderation and ranking systems improve continuously as the platform grows. We do not pre-screen videos. If something gets past us that shouldn't, the report button is what brings it to our attention — please use it.
If we got it wrong, tell us.
We don't pretend to be perfect. If you believe we removed something incorrectly, or that your account was wrongly suspended, write to admin@bereel.app with:
- Your account username.
- What was removed or what action was taken.
- Why you believe we got it wrong.
A real person will look at it. We will respond.
One inbox.
